Meine zehn liebsten Filme von Tim Burton
Tim Burton, ein Meister des Bizarren. Die Idee dieser Liste entstand durch ein Gespräch mit einer sehr guten Freundin. Ihre Nummer Eins schafft es nämlich bei mir so gerade eben noch in die Liste, das kann durchaus zu munteren Diskussionen führen. Tim Burtons Filme faszinieren meist durch ihre düsteren Szenarien, ihren skurrilen und oftmals schwarzen Humor und schrille, manchmal grellbunte Elemente als Kontrast zu seinem sonst doch eher gotisch gehaltenen Stil der Visualisierung. Die Bühnenbilder in seinen Filmen sind meist extrem detailverliebt und nahezu immer mit einer leicht surrealen Note versehen, oft greift er Elemente aus dem deutschen Expressionismus auf. Besonders ins Auge sticht hier der von Christopher Walken gespielte Bösewicht Max Shreck in Batman Returns, angelehnt an den deutschen Schauspieler Max Schreck, der 1922 als Nosferatu in Friedrich Wilhelm Murnaus gleichnamigen Stummfilmklassiker brillierte. Zudem verbeugt er sich gerne vor den Filmen und Schauspielern seiner Kindheit indem er entweder Rollen mit Schauspielern wie Vincent Price (Edward mit den Scherenhänden) besetzt oder Martin Landau in Ed Wood Bela Lugosi spielen lässt. Kernthemen seiner Filme sind meist Eskapismus, die kindliche Begeisterung und die Kraft der Imagination, sie wirken häufig seltsam entrückt, irgendwie nicht so ganz von dieser Welt, was sie so unglaublich anziehend und faszinierend macht. Viel Spaß also mit dieser etwas düsteren und manchmal auch morbiden Liste…. 🙂
